The Ivory version of this shoe was given to my Aunt Matilda in North Dakota in 1874 by Madame Vestal who was the famous owner of her own dance, bar, and gambling establishment. Those shoes were amazingly comfortable that my aunt met with a cobbler when she returned home to have a similar pair of Black Cauldron Kicker boots created for herself. The Black Cauldron Kicker Boots with 2 1/2" heels that she had crafted served her well because they are a staple of my Aunt Matilda's iconic outfit 'til this very day!
